* A movie ticket cost $3.36.

* 1980’s slang included “Like Totally” for in agreement; “Rad” for awesome; and “Gag me with a spoon” for extreme dislike.

* In The News: Genetic finger printing for DNA profiling was introduced; Michael Jordan was picked in Round One of the NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls; Michael Jackson won unprecedented acclaim for his album “Thriller” which sells over 37 million copies; the Olympic Games were held in Los Angeles; and the MTV Video Music awards started.
