* It is finally October, which means all of the cobwebs and dust in my house are now Halloween decorations.

* Who remembers when the Stockton Junior High had a different school song? When I was in junior high more than fifty years ago (Yikes!), it went like this: “Go Mighty Tigers, we’re with you tonight. Spirit with vim means spirit to win this glorious Tiger night. Rah! Rah! Rah! Go Mighty Tigers, claw with all your might. Now take that ball and win them all, for this is Tiger Night! Hey! When it was wrestling season we switched in “Now make that fall.” Okay, who sang it?

* Saw this “Crocktober” fudge recipe….After you spray your crockpot with non-stick spray, put in two packages of chocolate chips. You can use a bag of semi sweet and a bag of milk chocolate. Pour in one can of sweetened condensed milk and a splash of vanilla. Stir it up and cook on low for two hours with the lid off, mixing occasionally. After two hours, give it a final stir before pouring it into a parchment paper lined baking dish. Add some sea salt on top if you like. Refrigerate for two hours, cut it into squares and enjoy!

* Here is one to ponder over—1971 and 2023 are as far apart as 1971 and 1919.

* If you get lost in the woods, find a possum and follow it. You will be in the middle of the road in no time.

* This is one for my sister—Nobody wants to listen to White Snake with me…So here I go again on my own.

* Please call the Hall & Oates Hotline. This “Callin’ Oates” is a hotline that is still active today. If you call 1-719-266-2837 (719-26-OATES) it will give you the option to listen to one of four Hall & Oates songs. I pressed the number 4. Okay, I called four times and listened to all four songs, but I started with 4.

* I tried the homemade Dawn dish soap hack and it works like a charm. Once your spray bottle of the Dawn Powerwash is empty, DON’T THROW THAT BOTTLE OUT! That thing costs about $6.00! Instead, take 13 ounces of water, add in two tablespoons of regular Dawn dish soap (I buy the small bottle) and one tablespoon of rubbing alcohol. Stir together and refill the bottle. You’re welcome!
