David Normandin of Arkansas City passed away July 18, 2020 at Select Speciality Hospital in Wichita. He was 57.

David was born on April 22, 1963 in Hays, Kansas to Eugene and Anna Mae (Belisle) Normandin. He was a 1982 graduate of Palco High School.

On June 17, 2006 he was united in marriage to Tammy Gilbreath in Winfield, Kansas.

He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Winfield.

Marilyn Sue Majors

Marilyn Sue Majors of Salina, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, August 11th, 2020, at the age of 70.

She was born in Stockton, Kansas on September 17, 1949, the daughter of Ruth (Hance) Jackson, of Salina and the late Ivan Ray Jackson.

Survivors include her son, Jeffery Majors, of Salina; two brothers, Terry Jackson and Richard Jackson (Michelle), of Salina; three grandchildren, Sydney Majors, Seth Majors, and Briana Lund.

She is preceded in death by a son, Daniel Majors.

Cremation was chosen and no services are planned at this time.

Delbert P. "Del" Staab

Delbert P. “Del” Staab, age 83, of Alamo, TX, passed away August 4, 2020 due to complications from COPD. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Born October 3, 1936 in Hays to Frank and Mary (Weigel) Staab, he was the third of seven kids. Growing up in Hays, he graduated from St Joesph’s Military Academy. After a short time in the Seminary, he joined the US Army October 6, 1954 as a Radio Operator, earning the rank of Corporal and was stationed in Germany until September 27, 1957 when he was honorably discharged.

Gladys Marcum

Gladys Marcum, age 83, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Wilson Care and Rehabilitation in Wilson, KS.

She was born on January 26, 1937 in Hoisington, KS to Harold and Alice (Crawford) Stevenson. On July 25, 1957 she was united in marriage to Frank Marcum in Alva, OK. They were blessed with 3 children: Terry, Susan, and Patricia.

Gladys worked as a store clerk at Mr. K’s Food Town in Plainville until her retirement. She was a member of the Women’s American Legion, VFW Auxiliary, the Drama Club, and the Plainville-Stockton Quilt Guild.

Paul Jeffrey Page

Paul Jeffrey Page, age 55, Garden City, passed away July 31, 2020, at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City.

Jeff was born in Plainville, KS, November 12, 1964, the child of Vale and Patricia Page. He attended Colby Community College and was a Physical Therapist Assistant in Garden City.

Survivors include three brothers: Michael, Jim, and Dan; four sisters: Mary Bond, Susan Kerns, Melanie Calcara, and Melissa Rempe; a sister-in-law, Susan Gibson Page; a large number of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces; and a host of friends.

Erma Maxine Carmicheal

Erma Maxine Carmicheal, age 91, of Plainville, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her children on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. 

She was born on July 9, 1929 to Cecile and Murel Pettijohn near Madison, Kansas.

Erma graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1947 and attended the Kansas City Secretarial School in Kansas City, MO. She married Charles Robert Carmicheal on October 2, 1949. They had three children and celebrated over 65 years of marriage.

Wilber Perry Cotten

Wilbur Perry Cotten, age 99, died August 4, 2020, at Medicalodges, Great Bend, Kansas.

He was born April 3, 1921, in Woodston, Kansas, the son of Perry J. and Blanche A. (Dibble) Cotten. Wilbur graduated from Woodston High School in 1938. He was a WWII veteran, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946.

On June 21, 1947, he married Phoebe Joyce Benedick in Stockton, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1977. He then married Marjorie Duncan in 1979 and they later divorced.

David Allen John Rogers

David Allen John Rogers, age 40 of Stockton, Kansas, passed away on July 31, 2020 from a tragic, small craft mid-air collision in Soldotna, Alaska.

He was born on January 10, 1980, in Denver, Colorado. He was raised by his mother Renee (Hollingsworth) Rogers and husband Nick.

On February 14, 2002, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Rhonda Hebert in Golden, Colorado. They were blessed with three children, Madison, Ben, and Troy.
