Gregg Douglas Cooper, 74, of Hoxie, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the Sheridan County Health Complex.

He was born in Hoxie, Kansas, on April 25, 1949, to Mark and Rose (Meier) Cooper.

He grew up in Hoxie, Kansas and attended the Hoxie schools, graduating from Sheridan Community High School with the Class of 1967.

After graduation, Gregg entered the United States Navy. He was stationed on an aircraft carrier off the coast of Vietnam. He served his country for five years.

Phillipsburg resident David D. Dreiling passed away on September 22, 2023, at the age of 74.

He was born on June 9, 1949, in Berthoud, Colorado, to Michael and Pauline (Hepp) Dreiling.

Dave is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Ann Dreiling; parents Michael and Pauline Dreiling; and brothers Jerry and James Dreiling.

Nathan Andrew Worley, 36, of Henrietta, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

He was born on August 30, 1987, in Denver, Colorado to Ronald L. Worley and LaDonna (Franz).

He married Marandi Towery on June 18, 2022, in Henrietta.

Nathan worked as a mechanic in Henrietta. He loved anything motorsports. If it was fast and loud, he was all about it. He also loved being with his friends and family, especially his son Rebel. He was always a hard worker, but no matter how long of a day he had, he would always come to help at a moment’s notice.

Kenneth Wayne Kuntzsch

Kenneth Wayne Kuntzsch, Sr., 77, of Russell, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

He was born on March 19, 1946, in Russell, Kansas, the son of William H. and Margaret F. Reddig. He grew up in the Russell and Bunker Hill areas and attended local schools. 

He met, fell in love, and was united in marriage to Linda Marie Dicus on February 6, 1967, in Russell, Kansas. From this union, they were blessed with four sons: James, Kevin, Lyndall, and Kenneth.

Dale D. Bretton

Glade resident Dale D. Bretton passed away September 16, 2023, at his home in Glade at the age of 88.  

He was born July 9, 1935, in Phillips County, Kansas, the son of Hugh and Edna (LaRue) Bretton. He was premature, weighing only two lbs. He grew up in Phillips County, where he attended school through the 8th grade.

Dale married his first wife, Edna Mae, and to this union, four daughters, Doris, Darlene, Dorothy, and Dixie, were born.

Christine Louise Meisel

Chris passed away suddenly from heart failure at her home in Stockton, Kansas, at 71.

Raised in Colorado, she rode with the Westernaires, learned to ski, backpacked, graduated from Poudre HS in 1969, and briefly attended Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado. She also learned how to weave, knit, and make jewelry and was trained to drive draft horses.

Rebecca “Becky” Elaine Eaton, 64, of Plainville, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Redbud Village in Plainville.

She was born on February 9, 1959, in Fairfax, Mo., the daughter of Oscar and Betty (Faseler) Huff. She was united in marriage to Thomas Andrew Eaton on July 10, 1977, in Basehor, Kansas.

Becky spoke her mind quite often, was known as the Honey Bun lady, and never missed a game of Bingo. She enjoyed doing crafts, BBQs, and especially spending time with family and friends.

Arlene Marie Newell

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Arlene Marie Newell, age 86, passed away at her home in Gilbert, Arizona on September 10, 2023.

She was born on January 18, 1937, to Leo and Mary Desmarteau in Damar, Kansas.

She met Robert Henry Newell in Damar, Kansas. The couple was married in June of 1954 and remained in love until death. They began their life in Hill City, Kansas.

Edwin Vaden Bunch

Edwin Vaden Bunch of Stockton, Kansas, passed away on September 15, 2023, at his home in Stockton.

He was born on February 15, 1955, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to George T. and Helen (Kelly) Bunch. He married Susan Wyant in Richmond, Kentucky on May 25, 1979.

Edwin grew up in Virginia and graduated from Hayfield High School in Fairfax County in 1973. He joined the U.S. Air Force and was an Automatic Tracking Radar Repairman. He then worked for Vega Precision Laboratories as a Test Technician and then for D.C. Metro Rail as a Track Engineer until retirement.
