For the first time since the 2020-21 basketball season, the Stockton Tigers picked up a win, defeating the visiting Natoma Tigers last Thursday evening 63-30. The win was a big one as the last time the Stockton boys outscored their opponents was in the sub-state finals at Osborne back in 2021, when they were crowned sub-state champions.

Last week was a busy one for the Stockton High School Basketball teams as they took to the court on Monday and Tuesday at home against Trego and Lincoln, before traveling to Glasco on Friday to play Southern Cloud.

Junior Ashlyn Hahn improved her season record to 29-3 after winning the Panther Classic last Friday in Phillipsburg. Hahn, wrestling at 125 lbs., picked up falls over girls from Rossville, Ellsworth, Russell and Great Bend to earn her place on top of the podium.

The Stockton Junior High Wrestling Team was in Hoxie last Thursday to compete in a scramble with Rawlins County, St. Francis and the host Hoxie Indians.

Last Thursday Stockton hosted Russell in a high school wrestling dual. It was the first time in a few years that the Tigers have actually wrestled at home. Both the Tiger girls and boys picked up a number of wins as they prepare for post-season in the very near future.

The Stockton Junior High Basketball season came to an end last Monday, January 29, following losses to Osborne in the Pike Trails League Basketball Tournament. After winning their play-in games on Saturday, January 27, the Tiger teams were pitted against the top seeds of their brackets, the Osborne Bulldogs the following Monday.

Ten District Knights of Columbus Free Throw winners will move on to the Regional Contest in Quinter on Sunday, February 18th. The District contest was held in Plainville on Sunday, February 4th, with the winners in each age group listed first: (nine-year-old girls) Makinley Riener, Mackenzie Jackson; (ten-year-old girls) Tessa Look; (eleven-year-old girls) Kinsley Casey, Corbyn Glendening; (thirteen-year-old girls) Chloe Jackson; (nine-year-old boys) Henry Hillard, Henry Berkley; (ten-year-old boys) Grayson Mongeau, Emmitt Gosser; (eleven- year-old boys) Brevyn Wyatt, Lane Muir; (twelve-year-old boys) Garrison Mongeau, Caden Keas; (thirteen-year-old boys) Kolt Kuhlmann, Teagan Downing; and (fourteen-year-old boys) Trevor Gosser.

The Stockton Tiger PowerLifters had a successful opening meet when they traveled to Oakley on Saturday. Both Ava Dix and Cason Iwanski won their divisions, while Haden Hahn placed second.
