Though Tracy’s Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning in Stockton has been a staple in the community for many years, it is now a new addition to the Stockton Sentinel’s Business Directory. Look for their ad starting in this week’s edition on Page 4A.

Stockton USD 271 held two special school board meetings on Monday, March 25th. The first order of business during the first meeting was to accept the resignations of Sarah Armstrong as the high school golf coach and Thelma Berland as a board of education member.

The first day of spring was declared Tuesday, March 19, and we did enjoy a few warm days. We drove to Lindsborg on Sunday, March 17, for Arlene Holloway's visitation and enjoyed visiting with the Holloway family.

Thanks so very much to our friends and relatives for the cards, phone calls, words of comfort, flowers, and memorial gifts we’ve received since Bonnie’s death. Your kind & loving expressions of sympathy have all been appreciated. I SEE. Our eyes are incredibly remarkable gifts from our infinitely incredible Creator. Though they weigh only an ounce, God packed extraordinary complexity into each of our eyes. Our eyes receive and then transfer vast amounts of information every second into our even more complex threepound brains. Light passes through the cornea, the pupil, and then through the lens. This focuses the light onto photoreceptors (six million cone cells for color and 100 million rod cells for blacks and grays) in the back of the eye. The photoreceptors then create electrical impulses that travel through the optic nerve to the brain, which then translates all the information into images. Oh, and the brain receives images upside-down and flips them so that we see them right-side up. Amazing! In my opinion, the eye alone annihilates belief in evolution and screams out the reality of our all-wise Creator. No wonder David exclaimed, 'I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well' (Psa. 37:14). It was Solomon who said, 'The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The LORD has made them both' (Prov. 20:12). Even as fine of detail as our eyes can see in this life, we can't see past this life nor the glories that await true Christians in eternity. Paul says, 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him' (1 Cor. 2:9). But one of the most blessed truths concerning eyes is this 'And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away' (Rev. 21:4). It was blind Fannie Crosby who wrote, 'And I shall see Him face to face, And tell the story- Saved by grace.' This life has its tears. But a better day is coming for those who, through the eye of faith, can truthfully sing 'Saved by Grace!'

In John 18:33-36, Roman ruler Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” Jesus told him, “My kingdom is not of this world.” Most people did not understand this at all. The Jews sought a king to save and free them from Roman rule. But Jesus went on to say, “I came to bring truth to the world.” The meaning of “truth” was lost on them.
