The March 18th meeting of the Crossroads Quilt Guild was brought to order at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments from Karen McCune and Diane Maddy. Roll Call was taken with 19 answering and five showing their latest creations. The minutes were read by all, and a motion was made to accept them as printed by Bertha McGann and seconded by Linda Gardner. The motion carried. The Treasurer’s Report was given by Diane Maddy with Betty Bedore making a motion to approve Treasurer’s Report, which was seconded by Connie Haselhorst. The motion carried. There were no communication letters, committee reports, or bills presented. Old Business was the New Year’s Baby quilt that was given to Rooks County’s first baby of 2024. It was presented to Rebekah Van Skike and her parents. Betty Bedore and Elaine Hrabe made the quilt. During New Business, Linda Gardner announced that the Sew Day in Plainville will be moved from the First Baptist Church to the VFW in Plainville starting in March. Linda Gardner motioned to pay the VFW instead of the church $50.00 for the use of the building for 2024. Diane Maddy seconded the motion with the motion carried. Jennifer Guffey made a motion to adjourn the meeting, and Idona Fries seconded it. The motion carried. The next meeting will be on April 15th, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., with Betty Bedore and Idona Fries as hostesses. For those doing the Round Robin, bring your bag in to exchange with the next person. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most significant event in human history. Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we know that death has been conquered, and we, too, will be raised from the dead to live with Christ forever if we believe. No matter what happens to us as we walk with the Lord, the Resurrection assures us that Christ is alive and ruling his Kingdom. Without the Resurrection, there would be no Christian church today.

BLESSINGS. Other than King David, most of Israel's kings were evil. One of the few other good kings was Jehoshaphat. His reign of 25 years from 873-848 BC is mainly considered to have been a good and godly reign. In 2 Chronicles 20, the pagan, idolatrous peoples of Moab, Ammon, and others brought a great multitude against Israel to annihilate the Jews. How did Jehoshaphat respond to the frightening news? (#1) Though he feared, yet he 'set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast' (v. 3). (#2) He gathered all the country together to Jerusalem in order to seek God's favor (v. 4). (#3) He unashamedly personally led the people in public prayer (v. 6ff). (#4) He publicly affirmed that God is the One who rules from heaven, who rules over every nation, and the One who is all-powerful, so much so 'that no one is able to withstand' Him (v. 6). (#5) He publicly stated absolute confidence in God, saying that even if 'disaster comes upon us - sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine - we will stand before this temple and in Your presence... and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save' (v. 9). (#6) He publicly admitted that they had 'no power against this great multitude that is coming against us, nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You' (v. 12). How did God respond to the great humility of Jehoshaphat and His people? In short, through the prophet Jahaziel, God told His people, 'Chill out. I've got this.' In response, Jehoshaphat organized a choir to go before their army and to continually sing, 'Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever' (v. 21). Then God took care of His enemies, causing them to fight and annihilate each other. And it took the people three days to carry away the spoils of war. God poured out blessings because of their absolute faith in Him.
