Just a reminder that the citywide cleanup (trash customers within the Stockton City limits) will be held during the week of April 29th through May 3rd. Regular trash routes will be picked up as normally scheduled, with additional city trucks following to pick up furniture, tree branches, appliances (Freon must be drained from refrigerators), yard waste, and tires (limit 5).

The Rooks County Health Center’s annual meeting and board elections will occur on Friday, May 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. The election will be for two seats on the RCH Board of Directors. Board candidates must demonstrate eligibility to vote, U.S. citizenship, and residency within the hospital district.

Starting this weekend, Friday, April 19th, the Nova Theatre in Stockton will move to its summer movie show time schedule with all three movies on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to start at 7:00 p.m. The movie this weekend is “Arthur the King” starring Mark Wahlberg, rated PG-13.

The Stockton Food Pantry is open next Tuesday, April 23rd, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Food Pantry is located at 602 Main Street in the alley behind the Main Street Christian Church. The Pantry is discontinuing the fresh produce until further notice.

The Stockton Grade School 2024-2025 preschool enrollment is on Friday, April 19th. The enrollment for the preschool services starts with the three-year-olds at 8:30 a.m.

The menus for the week beginning Monday, April 15, are as follows: Monday— Taco salad with lettuce and tomato, chips, tropical fruit. Tuesday— Oven-baked chicken, parslied potatoes, pasta salad with veggies, bread, applesauce. Wednesday— Lasagna, Italian blend vegetables, dinner roll, peaches. Thursday—Beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, frosted birthday cake, pineapple. Friday—Pulled pork, baked beans, bun, mandarin oranges.

Monday—Pancake bites, fruit, juice, milk. Tuesday—Go-Gurt, Pop-Tart, fruit, juice, milk.

The Stockton Sentinel is asking for the SHS seniors or their parents for an 8x10 framed photo for the annual window display. Please drop off your pictures at the high school office before the end of April, so we can carry on this tradition!

The Stockton USD 271 Board of Education will host a Focus Group meeting on Thursday, April 18th, at 1:45 p.m. in the District Office (421 Main Street).

A garage sale will be at the Solomon Valley Manor’s old facility (315 South Ash in Stockton) this weekend, Saturday, April 13th from (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and on Sunday April 14th from (1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
