PRIDE and Chamber holds June meetings

The Stockton PRIDE organization met at the Chamber Office during the noon hour on Tuesday, June 9th. President Amber Muir gave the Treasurer’s Report, showing that the organization has a balance of $1,043.94 as of June 9th. The Downtown Flower committee is looking for volunteers to water the Main Street planters in July. Volunteers can contact the City Office to get their name on the list. The planting of the flowers by the bridge at the Stockton City Park is on hold until fall. At the next meeting, a committee will be set up to start work on the Holiday Home Tours. The July 2020 Parks and Recreation Family Fun Nights are being organized at this time. The Stockton Pumpkin Patch is on schedule for the first weekend in October. It was decided to sell Root Beer Floats and Cherry Limeades during Cruise Night on Friday, June 19th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The June PRIDE winners are Zach and Jen Kesler for the residence, and the Stockton Grade School for the business.

“Sentinel Sighting!” a new feature in the newspaper!

Don’t look now, but you could be featured in the newest addition to our paper, “Sentinel Sighting!” These candid photos will focus on pictures of people in a casual shot enjoying a walk, watching a baseball game, playing tag, riding a bike, etc. with one picture featured every week. The Sentinel staff will be taking these photos, so you never know when and where we will be, or who or what we will choose as our “Sentinel Sighting!” photo! We hope you enjoy this new addition to our paper, so keep looking to see if you or one of your family members has been captured in a photo.

Summer Library Program with Stockton Public Library

Please call 785-425-6372 to reserve your child or children’s summer library bag containing four weeks of activities and handouts. This will be a curbside pickup, so call when you arrive at the library after you have made prior arrangements for the bags, and the staff will bring the bag(s) out to you. This year’s program is “Imagine Your Story.”
